It’s no surprise 1st impressions matters. Not just that, corporations have demonstrated for years the undeniable power of controlling brand appearances through PR and Marketing. And if all that wasn’t enough, you can log on to your favorite social media app and see the power of keeping the ‘mystique’ through branding and glorifying of personal presentation. So many have proved that you can accomplish much by even just appearing to be successful, without accomplishing much else at all. Influencers understand the power of driving a Maserati, flexing in a mansion or fancy designer clothes (that are also sometimes rented) to demonstrate they are to be listened to and trusted (perfect for place for you to give your money, often in hopes of achieving the same ‘results’). But as we know, lies do not have legs so you will never be able to stand on them.
So of course here at The Clothing Coach Studio in downtown San Francisco, we don’t condone any phony bologna fenkoush fugazy. After all, The Clothing Coach is for men and women of substance. So while it’s true we would never show you how to put lipstick on a pig, but we do want to remind you of the chariot worthy of prince charming. (Or princess delight) You got all the skills, you’re ready for the meeting, the event, the reunion, the introduction, the BIG day…etc. But how do you pull up?
Try renting a luxury car. This is just another tool from your nonverbal tool belt. Often this can make quite an impact, as do many of our subtle clothing and presentation tips. Often the shiny new black Mercedes or Range Rover will deliver confidence to you as you arrive, (because you know you look good) and that will translate into immediate trust and interest from your those you encounter. Besides, you got all the skills to pay the bills; and especially if your meeting with a perspective employer you’ve now already shown them you appreciate and reward your own skills clearly produce. And that demands higher compensation.
