Poly French Terry: Another Fabric That’s More Hype Than Substance
Have you heard of Poly French Terry? It’s a relatively new fabric that’s been making waves in the fashion world, with many brands claiming that it’s the ultimate solution for comfort and style. But is it really all it’s cracked up to be? In this post, we’ll take a closer look at Poly French Terry and see if it’s worth all the hype.
First, let’s start with what Poly French Terry actually is. It’s a synthetic blend of polyester and French terry, a type of knit fabric known for its soft, absorbent loops on one side and a smooth surface on the other. The result is a fabric that promises to be lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying.
Sounds great, right? But before you rush out to buy a Poly French Terry garment, let’s consider some of the drawbacks.
Durability: One of the biggest issues with Poly French Terry is its durability. Because it’s a synthetic fabric it’s prone to stretching, fading, and pilling. This means that your clothes will look worn out much faster than if you had invested in a higher-quality fabric.
Environmental Impact: Synthetic fabrics like Poly French Terry are not biodegradable, which means that they contribute to the growing problem of textile waste. Additionally, the production of synthetic fabrics releases harmful chemicals into the environment.
Comfort: While Poly French Terry may feel soft and comfortable when you first try it on, this comfort can quickly dissipate. The synthetic fibers can cause itching and skin irritation, especially in people with sensitive skin.
So, is Poly French Terry worth all the hype? In our opinion, the answer is no. While it may seem like a good deal at first, the lack of durability and the negative impact on the environment make it a gimmick fabric that’s not worth your money.
Instead, we recommend investing in high-quality, natural fabrics like cotton, wool, or silk. These materials are not only more durable and environmentally friendly, but they also offer long-lasting comfort and style.
Like many synthetics, Poly French Terry is a fabric that’s more hype than substance. Here at The Clothing Coach in San Francisco, we always recommend to opt for natural fabrics that will stand the test of time; and help discover a comfort and style that lasts.
Pro Tip: Rent A Luxury Car
It’s no surprise 1st impressions matters. Not just that, corporations have demonstrated for years the undeniable power of controlling brand appearances through PR and Marketing. And if all that wasn’t enough, you can log on to your favorite social media app and see the power of keeping the ‘mystique’ through branding and glorifying of personal presentation. So many have proved that you can accomplish much by even just appearing to be successful, without accomplishing much else at all. Influencers understand the power of driving a Maserati, flexing in a mansion or fancy designer clothes (that are also sometimes rented) to demonstrate they are to be listened to and trusted (perfect for place for you to give your money, often in hopes of achieving the same ‘results’). But as we know, lies do not have legs so you will never be able to stand on them.
So of course here at The Clothing Coach Studio in downtown San Francisco, we don’t condone any phony bologna fenkoush fugazy. After all, The Clothing Coach is for men and women of substance. So while it’s true we would never show you how to put lipstick on a pig, but we do want to remind you of the chariot worthy of prince charming. (Or princess delight) You got all the skills, you’re ready for the meeting, the event, the reunion, the introduction, the BIG day…etc. But how do you pull up?
Try renting a luxury car. This is just another tool from your nonverbal tool belt. Often this can make quite an impact, as do many of our subtle clothing and presentation tips. Often the shiny new black Mercedes or Range Rover will deliver confidence to you as you arrive, (because you know you look good) and that will translate into immediate trust and interest from your those you encounter. Besides, you got all the skills to pay the bills; and especially if your meeting with a perspective employer you’ve now already shown them you appreciate and reward your own skills clearly produce. And that demands higher compensation.
As always, this is not a one size fits all strategy, but can only be an investment when catered to situationally to your goals. Book a consultation appointment or call and find out where and how to best execute this strategy for you!
Custom Candiani Denim: Simply The Best!
We are always looking for new and exciting additions to your wardrobe, and what better than the best most comfortable denim in the world!? Yes, The Clothing Coach Studio in downtown San Francisco is carrying a custom line of Italian made Candiani Denim. Available in over 9 color options and washes, this premium Jean is fully customizable from the fit to the stitching. Known for it’s durability and comfort, the difference is almost immediate upon trying your first pair! It’s not just that the fabric moves with you with just enough stretch while keeping shape; it’s how it’s doing it.
Most stretch denim on the market is really not denim at all. It’s simply watered down with stretch synthetics like spandex or nylon. Not only is this fabric toxic to produce, but the stretch causes the jean to lose shape, fade quickly and certainly does not stand the test of time. Fit and fabric are the perfect duo to understand for true premium comfort, style and longevity. Factor in your price per wear and personal branding, it’s easily also a worth while investment that will pay off for season after season. Our custom options also allow you to elevate your denim becoming more than just casual wear. With muted rivets and fabric matching threads you can seamlessly upgrade your look for almost any event.
Remember when you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready! So just book a virtual appointment or come on into Union Square Downtown San Francisco studio and hit the ground running as the world opens back up. Your masked and pant-less days are already on the decrease, let’s get your personal brand back on the increase. It’s not the fashion, it’s the passion.
Wedding Anniversary (Charlottesville, VA Marcus & Marissa)
It’s been an incredible 3 years since we custom tailored a heartfelt look for Marcus Martin on the day he was to wed his lovely bride Marissa. While so much has happened since, we can’t forget the tragic incident in Charlottesville, VA injuring Marcus & Marissa (among others) and killing their friend Heather Heyer. While protesting for the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue, they were met by a white supremacist ramming his vehicle into the crowd.
The news traveled worldwide and we were just as outraged here at The Clothing Coach in San Francisco. It was an honor to have an opportunity to come together with a variety of vendors to make this wedding possible, that was nearly canceled due to this tragic event.
Themed in purple to honor their friend Heather, it was a privilege to make a custom purple wool & silk blend coat to contrast nicely with a thinly pin striped black vest & trouser. This allowed the purple to stand out, matching seamlessly with the Italian Made purple formal tie, honoring the couples wish of remembering their friend whos life was lost to such senseless rage & hate. Paired with a classic black cap toe by American Made Allen Edmonds, our founder Magdy Kotb personally flew to Virginia to hand deliver the outfit. He was also on hand to style and dress Marcus plus his groomsmen in cooperation with Men’s Wearhouse.
While we truly wished we could have met Marcus & Marissa under better circumstances, it truly is an honor to have played a small part in their big day! Thank you and cheers to your powerful message ‘Love Wins’ ringing loud and proud that day!
Milanese Buttonhole
The Milanese buttonhole as it’s known was first referred to as the Asolsa Lucida glossy buttonhole and most likely originated in the Abruzzi region of Italy. This is a clear sign of a handmade custom suit, and is still preferred in Paris and by the highest quality garment makers. It’s a a detail we are proud to offer here at The Clothing Coach Atelier in downtown San Francisco.
Union Square is starting to buzz again as we begin to resume life as normal. When you are ready to be out and be seen, learn about these rare details that add elegance and sophistication to your look. This handmade feature can be customized using up to 3 colors ! It’s a signature of a true bespoke garment, and some of the finest brands stitch it as if it were a stamp unique to their brand. We are no different as we offer our own signature Milanese button hole at a rarely used 45 degree angle.
This identifier can be an easy win for many professions including high powered luxury real estate agents; or those who aspire to be. Do less talking and let your brand work for you, attracting the right clients for your needs. Sophistication is a form of language interpretation, and more powerful when spoken non-verbally. Similar to surgeon cuffs, yet generally seen as a higher level of sophistication as it is more rarely seen.
Add a splash of color or keep it classic and subtle, schedule your appointment with us today and see what options we have to offer you!
