Wedding Anniversary (Charlottesville, VA Marcus & Marissa)

It’s been an incredible 3 years since we custom tailored a heartfelt look for Marcus Martin on the day he was to wed his lovely bride Marissa. While so much has happened since, we can’t forget the tragic incident in Charlottesville, VA injuring Marcus & Marissa (among others) and killing their friend Heather Heyer. While protesting for the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue, they were met by a white supremacist ramming his vehicle into the crowd.

The news traveled worldwide and we were just as outraged here at The Clothing Coach in San Francisco. It was an honor to have an opportunity to come together with a variety of vendors to make this wedding possible, that was nearly canceled due to this tragic event.

Themed in purple to honor their friend Heather, it was a privilege to make a custom purple wool & silk blend coat to contrast nicely with a thinly pin striped black vest & trouser. This allowed the purple to stand out, matching seamlessly with the Italian Made purple formal tie, honoring the couples wish of remembering their friend whos life was lost to such senseless rage & hate.  Paired with a classic black cap toe by American Made Allen Edmonds, our founder Magdy Kotb personally flew to Virginia to hand deliver the outfit. He was also on hand to style and dress Marcus plus his groomsmen in cooperation with Men’s Wearhouse

While we truly wished we could have met Marcus & Marissa under better circumstances, it truly is an honor to have played a small part in their big day! Thank you and cheers to your powerful message ‘Love Wins’ ringing loud and proud that day!
